UPDATE, 11/21/09: After a recovery period at home, Roger returned to the hospital for more surgeries. He’s currently inpatient, and according to his wife, has another two to three weeks before he can go home again. Thanks to Chance Hurteau, Class of ’85, for the update.

UPDATE, 10/25/09: Roger has left the hospital and is now recovering at home. He is awake, aware, and talking, and sends his thanks to everyone for their prayers. No word yet on whether he’ll need any further surgeries.

UPDATE, 9/23/09: Roger had another surgery last Friday, but it was again cut short due to complications. Doctors were able to reconstruct his jaw, but it appears he may lose one eye, and probably the sight in the other. They suspect he may have also suffered brain damage, but won’t know for sure until he wakes up. He is under heavy sedation for the time being. Please keep Roger in your thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE, 9/13/09: Roger had surgery a couple of days ago to reconstruct his face. After eight hours, the doctors realized he wasn’t getting enough oxygen to his brain, so they suspended the surgery. He is now on a ventilator and a feeding tube, and is intensive care until he is stable enough for doctors to try to complete the surgery he needs.

Per his brother, Bobby, Roger is at Riverside County Regional Medical Center, 26520 Cactus Ave., Moreno Valley, CA 92555. The hospital number is 951-486-4900. Please note he is listed as Charles Davison. Roger and Bobby’s sisters Maria and Donna are there with him. I’ll update as news becomes available. Please keep Roger in your thoughts.

I just received word that fellow DGFer Roger Davison was involved in a motorcycle accident in California on Labor Day. He’s been in and out of surgery since then. He sustained several broken bones, including all the bones in his face. His brother Bobby reports him in stable but guarded condition.

Please keep Roger in your thoughts and prayers, and maybe leave a message on his Facebook profile to find when he recovers. I’m sure Bobby would also appreciate your support.

If you’re not on Facebook, feel free to leave a message in the comments here. Everything from the blog is exported to Facebook, so they’ll be able to see it there.

Bobby, would you let me know how he's doing? It's like 30 minutes from my house.
