In Memory…

We lost a dear friend last week. Inmaculada Kirk Pierce, known to all of us as Macu, was killed in a tragic boating accident on Easter Sunday. She was 42. She leaves behind a 16-year-old daughter, Monica, a wonderful family, and numerous close friends.

A few fellow DGFers who live in the Jacksonville area were able to pay their respects in person. They spoke with Macu’s family and passed along condolences on behalf of all her DGF friends and classmates who couldn’t be there. By all accounts, it was a beautiful service, with approximately 250 people in attendance, a testament to the kind of person Macu was.

According to a family member, there is talk of setting up a fund for Macu’s daughter. No other details are available at this time, but if and when this happens, I’ll post the information here for anyone who would like to contribute.

In the meantime, if you’d like to convey your condolences to Macu’s family, you can sign a guest book set up by the funeral home.
