I’ve been thinking about adding Spanish recipes to the site for quite a while. Every so often on Facebook, someone asks how to make something—paella, pinchitos, and just the other night, sangria. Well, that was the kicker because several Rota Admirals weighed in on that conversation, each with their own special sangria recipe. I figured that was a great place to start!
It’s now officially summer, and what better way to cool off during a cookout or pool party than with an icy glass of authentic Spanish sangria? Don’t worry. It’s not difficult to make, and you can customize it a little as far as what fruits you like, and whether you prefer red or white wine.
I just realized while writing this that it would be possible to make a virgin version of sangria for kids to enjoy. I’ll have to find a good recipe for that and include it. If your kids aren’t predisposed to eating fruit, it might be a good way to help them get that vitamin C! There’s gotta be a Spanish recipe for virgin sangria. I’ll see if I can find one to add.
Click over to the Recipes page and check out the yummy sangria recipes. If you have another good one, or any suggestions or questions, let me know in the comments. And check out the links within the recipes. They’ll help you find what you need, and a small portion of your purchase will go toward keeping this site up and running.
We all love Spanish food (right?) and have favorite things we remember eating when we lived there. I know at least one Rota Admirals has a recipe for garlic chicken that’s supposed to taste like the chicken from Sarge’s. I’ll be asking him to contribute! And for those who love pinchitos, the key to making them is the seasoning. I’ll show you where to get it. I’ll definitely be adding more Spanish recipes later. Any requests? ¡Buen provecho!
